Meteor Shower is without a doubt the record I've been wanting to make for many years.
Lyrically the songs explore what it means to search for an extraordinary God in our everyday existence, the unanswered questions and mysteries of faith, and living in the balance between longing for what's yet to come, and resting in what is.
Stylistically, it still has the folky-pop feel of my past albums, but we broadened the soundscape with more lush, layered textures and infused some alternative rock, rootsy rhythm & blues, and even a hint of funk. I think the result is an eclectic, soild pop album. (Can you tell I love it?!)
We recorded at Dark Horse Studios in Nashville and McPherson Studios in Minneapolis, with Nate Sabin producing. If you don't know his work, he's produced Sara Groves, Jason Gray, Michael Olsen, to name a few....he's phenomenal; I was thrilled to be able to work with him!
